Course Description

This course is designed to help Chinese studies majors in their junior years fulfill their immersion studies requirement. There will be in-class project and tutorial activities as well as lectures on Hong Kong’s mixed cultures in order to provide students with artistic-aesthetic learning of a hybrid society like Hong Kong. The class will be conducted in English (supplemented with Chinese terms to accommodate students’ language proficiency).

6 Jun (Mon) : HK’s Cultural Mixture: Visual analysis for traditional ink painting  

7 Jun (Tue) : Group/individual activities for Project-B on HK’s visual art field 

8 Jun (Wed) : HK’s Cultural Mixture: Art in and/or of HK 

9 Jun (Thu) : Contemporary Culture I: Chinese art of the global cities in China

13 Jun (Mon) : Contemporary Culture II: Chinese art of the global cities in China
