Undergraduate students participate in Beijing field study course

From 16-22 May, 2016, our annual undergraduate field study course, led by Professor H. Christoph Steinhardt and Dr. Jiang Yihong, took a group of 24 students to Beijing to put their finger at the pulse of politics in China's capital. It explored the roles of Chinese state and private think tanks, how China engages the world, and Beijing as a political city. The trip included visits and interactions with the CCP's Central Translation and Compilation Bureau, The World and China Research Institute, The New York Times, Global Times, The EU Delegation to China, Tian'anmen Square and The Chinese National Museum, Jingshan Park, as well as a student-organized visit to the Niujie Mosque and Muslim quarter.
