Posting Date: 25 September 2015 The Centre inks exchange programme agreement with National Taiwan University |
The Centre has signed a new exchange agreement with National Taiwan University (NTU). Starting from February 2016, the first cohort of Contemporary China Studies major undergraduates will study an intensive programme of Mandarin Chinese language courses and/or subject courses taught in Mandarin Chinese at NTU. This new programme complements the highly successful term-long study programme at Peking University launched last year, which will again see more than twenty CCS majors studying in Beijing this spring.

The Centre welcomes five new part-time faculty teaching courses this term: Professor Michel Bonnin, a historian specializing in Mao era and recent Chinese history, Professor Wang Danning, an anthropologist concentrating on family, gender, and urban issues, Dr. Leta Hong Fincher, a sociologist specializing in gender issues, Dr. Brandon King, an expert in ancient Chinese history and philosophy, and Dr. Laura Pozzi, a historian of modern Chinese visual culture.
