My proposed research focuses on the interrelationships between the Anti-Extradition Amendment Bill Movement and migration wave from Hong Kong to abroad. This research aims to answer the following questions. First, what is the impact of the changing of Hong Kong political atmosphere on migration? In particular, to what extent does the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill influence the motivation, choices of destination and strategic consideration of the migration process of Hong Kong people to abroad since 2020? Also, as the relationship between China and other countries and territories, especially the United Kingdom, has become more tense after this movement, what impacts will this wave of immigration have on the relationship between China and Hong Kong, and between China and other countries in the future?
