趙胥邑博士目前在香港中文大學中國研究中心擔任助理教授。她的研究主要關注中國西南地區的城市化與國家主導的基礎建設如何塑造不同人群對於社會變遷的體認。基於長時間的民族誌田野調查，她在即將撰寫完成的專著書稿中進一步探討關於城市建造的社會想像和時間體驗如何與流動中的家庭、工作、和社會階層認同相互塑造。除此之外，她在政治人類學、城市人類學和女性研究領域都有已發表或即將刊登的同行匿名評審文章。趙教授本科畢業於北京大學，主修政治學與行政學，後於英國劍橋大學和美國波士頓大學分別獲得亞洲與中東研究碩士學位和人類學博士學位。
