時昱，加州大學洛杉磯分校歷史學博士，現任香港中文大學中國研究中心助理教授。主要研究領域為中國近現代社會文化史，特別關注二十世紀科技與藝術的歷史性互動。相關研究曾發表於 Twentieth-Century China 等國際學術期刊。正在撰寫的英文專著從技術史、勞動史與文化制度切入，重構民間表演在現代中國的跨媒介轉型。其他研究與教學興趣包括底層史、性別史、媒介史、科技史與物質文化史，並致力於聲音、影像等多元史料的蒐集、整理與運用。得益於中國人民大學、牛津大學及芝加哥大學的跨學科訓練，其研究與教學嘗試重新思考現代人文學科的分野，以及傳統與現代的區隔。
