我從小生長在上海,對吳方言文學,電影和口頭表演中的本地和區域性文化和語言特別感興趣。碩博階段我在香港中文大學和南加州大學的學術訓練,又進一步激發了我對方言與文化多元性之間關係的研究興趣。目前,我正在撰寫題為《上海方言文學與文化的語言,聲景和身份認同》的手稿。該書稿考察了清末至今上海文學文化史中吳方言著作不斷變化的話語和文化意義。我的教學興趣涉及廣泛的主題,例如現代中國文學和文化;中國語言文化史;華語語系研究;中國電影和表演藝術;後殖民文學和文化研究。
