Our China Studies programme is primarily taught in English. No prior knowledge of Chinese is required for admission.
International students may opt for a more intensive study of Chinese language by choosing some Chinese language courses as electives. They are encouraged to take Chinese language tests, such as internationally-recognised Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK; 漢語水平考試) with the Yale-China Chinese Language Academy upon graduation.
